More | First saw the eves in '88 supporting the Mission, was hooked on Julianne voice instantly. Went to serveral gigs after that, but lost interest after Scarlet was released. Then thanks to the internet I came across Candytree and Goony's sites and I soon remembered that voice. Can't wait to see them live again. |

More | I was a bright eyed school-kid with my mates in a record store with my first
wage packet ( not pocket money ) I felt I deserved a treat .
Every Angel was there ( gatefold ) bought it because it looked cool ! ( never heard of
the band before , my mates went for more run of the mill purchases , I thought I would be
cool by buying the weird one ! ) , went back the next day and got WHW ITC and FIOH ,
entranced !! waiting for the Belfast gig , then flop, gig cancelled .
when I had the money to see a gig they had split !!!
Didn't know until dec 2003 they had been at it again !
Booked passage to Oxford and Bristol,( a mighty task to undertake
for one from foreign shores I might add )
caught up on my back catalogue ( help from goony ) and bang I'm 18 again and doing that
reminiscence thing .

Nowadays into a wide range of stuff ie, Mansun, Metallica, Blur, Garbage Chemical Brothers and Primal Scream. |

More | First heard AAE at a friend's house in 198, and was mesmerised enough to rush out and buy the first album on the spot. Saw them live from '89 at Town & Country a couple of times (T&C Acoustics were fab as they could hit the resonance of the building!) and at Reading Uni. Those cold AAE-less years were spent building the collection of their catalogue - though the Video "Evergreen" still eludes me! Amazed to find them supporting the Mish after all those years and now have been to lots of the unplugged and acoustic gigs. Nice to hear the recent new songs and welcome Toni as new guitarist. Excited about a bright future for the band - still the best. Still collecting their catalogue and memorabelia. |

More | I first encountered AAE while looking for more Gothic music at a used cd
store three years ago. One listen to Julianne's voice and I was hooked.
AAE soon replaced Rush as my favorite band for 10 years standing.
Like many here, I am very eclectic in my musical tastes (seems typical of AAE fans). I like anything from classical to country to even some death metal (e.g. My Dying Bride and Therion) and almost everything inbetween. (exceptions: some pop and rap). My favorites tend to be a blend of folk and some other style such as AAE (imagine that!) and Soul Asylum (mix of folk and alternative).
My other interests are as eclectic as music. I'm into computers, multimedia, physical sciences, philosophy, reading and writing science fiction and fantasy, the outdoors (thats me in the foreground on the left), cooking Thai food, and being human! |
Fav AAE album | I Still cannot decide! All AAE favorites change with my mood |
Fav AAE songs | In the Meadow, Road to your soul, Theft, Dream Now, Wishing the Hours Away, and Calling Your Name |
Other Fav bands | Soul Asylum, Queensryche, The Mission, The Cult, Rush, and The Sundays |

More | One afternoon I saw the 'December' videoclip on TV, and have been a fan ever since - yes, some days have gone by since then ;)
Since the Eves didn't play in Germany that often I never made it to see them live, at least not until November '99. So far I made it to see all Borderline shows of the 2000 tour, and the Nottingham gig in 99.
Favourite songs (today) are: December, Miss World and Are You Lonely. |
Rec. Bands | Skyclad, Ayreon, Wishing Tree + loads of others |

More | Long time Eve fan and collector, I gleefully mis-spent many months following the Eves and The Mission all around the UK in a battered old 1 litre Austin Metro (named "Julianne" by my partner in crime at the time). Now sadly restricted to only really going to gigs I can drive to and get back from in one night due to allegedly being "responsible" these days (hah!).
Other likes: Throwing Muses, Velvet Underground, Tori Amos, The Heart Throbs and many more. |
